Mother’s Day, that one day a year that all Mums are given that extra bit of attention. The day where you get to let Mum know how much she means.
Well I’ve been waiting for this day for close to a year. After becoming a mum in 2013 I was eagerly signing up to the various parenting website and baby brands so there is no shortage of Mother’s Day promotional emails in my inbox of late.
Since I have been bombarded with Mother’s Days messages for the last month I thought I would take a look at a few of the best ones I’ve come across. Hopefully, they provide some inspiration for your own Mother’s Day email campaigns.
Pulls at the heartstrings
With the subject line “a mother’s love is a gift” it was enough to get me to click. The email itself made me jump ahead 20 years with visions of my own little one thinking about how I had dressed her every morning all those years ago. This works well in making the reader think about what their mothers have done for them over many years and a thought-provoking email like this could prompt action.
This email also includes a clever competition to “Win for Mom”. Who could say no to winning a prize for their Mum?
Good use of automated system emails
This email from Pinterest caught my eye as a great example of using automated system emails for holiday promotions. Also with such a strong brand alignment of Pinterest and its crafty origins the email seemed like the perfect fit for Mother’s Day.
Enticing subject line
I could hardly go past the subject line “Only open this if you need spoiling”. It was almost daring me to open it.
For the last minute shoppers
This one came into my inbox just yesterday. It’s very persuasive and gives me no excuses to forget to send Mum flowers this year. Even though it’s my first time as a mum I can’t forget my own Mum!
This one was another that was aimed at all those last minute shoppers. Clear messaging that ‘it’s not too late to get in time for Mother’s Day” and a deadline for ordering.
So there you have it, a few of the best Mother’s Day emails that might just help inspire your own campaigns.
And to all the mum’s out there have a Happy Mother’s Day this coming Sunday.
